I had PRK performed at Grand Rapids Ophthalmology by Dr. David Barrett in Dec 1997 and I tell everyone that it was the best money I have ever spent. I was extremely nearsighted before the surgery, so much so that I could not run cross country races in high school without contacts or glasses because I couldn't see the ground below me clearly enough to know that I had good footing on the race course.
I now have 20/15 vision in each eye and combined vision of 20/12. Most importantly, when I applied to the U.S. Air Force for flight training, I needed a medical waiver for the PRK surgery I had undergone. Any deficiency in the surgery would have disqualified me from service. (The military is extremely strict when it comes to pre-entrance physical exams) The Air Force approved the medical waiver.
The results of my Grand Rapids Ophthalmology eye surgery were good enough for the military to entrust me behind the controls of a multi-million dollar aircraft... shouldn't they be good enough for you too?
