Meet Dr. Muallem

Marcus Muallem, M.D., is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist at Grand Rapids Ophthalmology. Dr. Muallem specializes in cataracts, cornea and refractive surgery (LASIK/EVO ICL) and glaucoma.

Dr. Muallem earned his Bachelor of Medical Science degree from the Hebrew University Hadassah Medical School and his Master of Ophthalmology degree from Tel Aviv University.

He earned his medical degree from the Hebrew University Hadassah Medical School and then pursued a residency at the Illinois Eye and Ear infirmary (University of Illinois – Chicago) followed by an external-corneal disease fellowship and a glaucoma fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami, FL.

He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Cornea Society and The American Glaucoma Society.

He is conversant in Arabic and Hebrew.
