Dr. Cowden is fellowship-trained in cornea, external diseases, anterior segment, and refractive surgery. He was involved in the initial FDA clinical trials for LASIK in 1996 and has performed thousands of procedures, including Custom and BLADE-FREE LASIK. Dr. Cowden also specializes in corneal transplant surgery, advanced anterior segment reconstruction as a result of trauma or congenital defects, and small-incision cataract surgery utilizing traditional intraocular lenses, toric implants for astigmatism, and advanced technology LifeStyle Lenses. He received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine; completed his subspecialty fellowship at University of Minnesota and his ophthalmology residency at University of Wisconsin; and is a graduate of University of Michigan. He has been in private practice since 1997.
Marcus Muallem, MD
Dr. Muallem is fellowship-trained in cornea and refractive surgery, as well as glaucoma. He specializes in diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of glaucoma and corneal diseases, including surgery and corneal transplants. Dr. Muallem completed his fellowship training at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and his residency at University of Illinois, Chicago.
